Solution Checklist
While every installation of SBS 2008 will have its own unique facets, you will find a similar set of technologies in the business for it to exist.
In terms of a typical solution, you will need:
- SBS Server
- X64 hardware with >4 GB RAM
- Backup
- USB Backup device
- Optional Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) to manage power outages and spikes
- Network
- Internet connectivity
- Firewall (can be embedded in an Internet connectivity device)
- Routers
- Optional wireless routers
- Internet
- Domain name
- Name server for DNS management
- Remote devices
- Mobile phones with ActiveSync
- Laptops and home computers
- Software
- Anti-virus software and subscription
- SBS 2008 server and CALs
